Lake Ontario fishing report

Lucky Dutchman’s Lake Ontario Fishing report 5/14/08: The fishing last week was up and down like a roller coaster. We started the week with a limit catch on Monday. The crew I had on Monday caught their limit and then some as we released a number of small browns before we limited out and had to quit. When we reach our limit it is my practice to quit fishing because if we continue to keep fishing and we hurt a fish we would still have to release it dead or alive. So when we get close to a limit I encourage my anglers to start releasing any fish that is not hurt or a real trophy and when we have a limit we quit fishing. The middle of the week we had a cold front push through and it slowed the fishing some but we still did all right. Friday morning was excellent again but by noon friday another front pushed through and it slowed the fishing over the week end. The high point of the week end was a 15 pound king salmon. This was the first king of the 08 season caught on the Lucky Dutchman II. This week I have had a couple of days off and I start fishing again Thursday afternoon and I have my fingers crossed because the weather doesn’t look good for the upcoming week end. We will do the best that we can and hope for the best but sometimes when I expect the weather to make fishing difficult just the opposite happens. When you think that you have it all figured out you realize just how little you really know.

Check out some of last week’s pictures below

I am busy this month but I will do my best to keep my home page updated with what is going on on the Eastern end of lake Ontario, so check back often.

I have a discussion on gobys on my blog at Capt Bill's Blog. Check it out for my opinion on gobys or you can leave me a comment.

I still have dates available but the week ends are almost gone so If you want to experience some Spring Fishing for football browns contact me as soon as you can
