Lake Ontario Charter Fishing

In the spring of 2005 I moved the boat from Mexico Point to Oswego for the spring fishing and returned to mexico Point in July for the remainder of the 05 season. In 2006 I decided to move the boat to oswego for the complete season. After fishing from Mexico Point for over 20 years it was a difficult decision to make, but I made the move for the comfort and safety of my customers. Their were a number of advantages when fishing from Oswego.

The Oswego River is the second largest river flowing into Lake Ontario and the influx of nutrient rich water draws large numbers of bait fish which in turn draws trout and salmon

In the early spring when the wind is blowing hard it is still possible to fish inside the harbor and catch brown trout, a few salmon, and the occasional trophy walleye.

Any time of the year the fish are generally closer to the Oswego River so the time it takes to get to the fish is greatly reduced. This allows for more time for fishing and less time running, and less time running means less fuel used in the boat, and less fuel used helps to keep rate increases to a minimum.

In the fall salmon season if the wind is blowing too hard to fish the open lake it is possible to fish in and around the break walls and still catch a few salmon. You get the opportunity to fish instead of not fishing because of the unsafe conditions on the open lake.

The City of Oswego owns and operates Wright’s Landing and it is a first class operation that is well kept and maintained. All the parking areas are spacious and paved. There are picnic areas available and rest rooms that have flush toilets with hot and cold running water. The docks are floaters and are very stable, There is 24 hour security and if help is needed it is only a radio call away.
